Getting your N.I.E

You can apply for your N.I.E (Identification Number for Foreigners) at any Police Station, the closest to Costa Adeje being the one in Las Americas. You must present the application and collect your N.I.E in person. The process takes at least a week.

You will need to present the following documentation:

• Original passport and photocopy. IMPORTANT – get your passport stamped when you enter the country and present a photocopy of that page along with the main one.
• Three passport-size photographs, in colour and against a white background.
• A photocopy of the Purchase Deposit or the Contract of Sale with Alicur, as supporting document to justify the grounds for your N.I.E application.
• The N.I.E application form available from the Police Station, duly filled out by yourself.
